Brent OCC works mainly with its own ‘high build’ in-house composite products . These so-called high build coating materials, are composed of very high quality synthetic resins. These specialised resins determine the processing capabilities and properties reached by the coatings . Therefore, only the best developed epoxy , vinyl ester and polyurethane resins are applied. The resins are modified depending on the application required, the modified resins are then combined with rigid fillers such as glass and ceramics.

Examples of requirements may include:

  • The lowest possible vapor permeability.
  • High resistance to abrasion.
  • Strong adhesion to foreign substrate.
  • Possibility to build up a substantial thickness (up to several millimeters in a single layer).
  • Rigidity.

Fillers can be applied using one type of material, in various different combinations of shape and dimensions, or in combination of different types of materials.

Examples of these fillers and their properties are:

  • Glass in the form of plates for low permeability . These so-called glass-flakes provide an insulation layer in the coating that has a very high resistance to penetration of vapor and liquid molecules.
  • Boron carbides, aluminum oxides , silicon, and ceramic particles for a high erosion resistance.

These coatings can be grouped into anti- EROSION materials and anti-CORROSION materials . The coating is selected depending on the object to be coated and the type of application.

Brebaflake V.E. 1010

Brebaflake V.E. 1010 is a prime coat for the Brebaflake V.E. series. Brebaflake V.E. 1010 is an epoxy novolak vinyl-ester glassflake coating in styrene solution. Cured by the addition of organic peroxide.

Brebaflake V.E. 1030

Brebaflake V.E. 1030 is a build coat for the Brebaflake V.E. series and must be brush or trowel applied. Brebaflake V.E. 1030 is an epoxy novolak vinyl-ester glassflake coating in styrene solution. Cured by the addition of organic peroxide.

Brebaflake V.E. 1050

Brebaflake V.E. 1050 is a topcoat for the Brebaflake V.E. series and can be brush or airlessspray applied. Brebaflake V.E. 1050 is an epoxy novolak vinyl-ester glassflake coating in styrene solution. Cured by the addition of organic peroxide.

BrebaCeramic

BrebaCeramic is a epoxy novolak vinyl-ester ceramic coating in styrene solution. Cured by the addition of organic peroxide. BrebaCeramic is suitable for the coating of pumps, heat exchange parts, valves, etc.

OCC Wear Resist 401

O.C.C. Wear Resist 401 is an epoxy having with a high ceramic filling. The product is used as a top layer and adhesive layer for OCC Wear Resist products. Where there is a minor corrosion-erosion, two layers of OCC 401 can be sufficient. O.C.C. 401 is due to the high ceramic filling extremely durable and gives a smooth and “glossy” surface.

OCC Wear Resist 801

Non- dissolvable material, 2 components coating. Epoxy base, highly filled with ceramic particles. .

OCC Wear Resist 701

Solvent free, 2 componant coating. Based on high filled epoxy resins.
